Procedure for Filing a Civil Notice of Appeal
to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals

Appeal filing fee made payable to the Clerk of the USDC/SDNY.
  1. Pay for the Appeal first in Cashiers Office located in Room 120, 500 Pearl Street.
     
  2. After paying for your Appeal you will receive a white receipt and a pink receipt, after which you will proceed to Room 370, 500 Pearl Street, to file your Notice of Appeal.
 
2. Documents required for filing your Notice of Appeal.
  1. Original Notice of Appeal along with pink paid receipt.
     
  2. 3 copies of the Notice of Appeal for the Court, one of which must have a copy of the documents that you are appealing.
     
  3. A service list with all names and addresses of opposing attorneys to be served by the US District Court.
     
  4. 1 additional copy of the Notice of Appeal for each service to be done by the Court to all opposing attorneys listed on the service list.
     
  5. If you have 3 or more parties to be served, you will need to provide to the Court with labels, without attorney's logo and addressed to the opposing attorneys to be served.

After filing your Notice of Appeal, obtain and complete C&D forms. Contact the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit for current forms, instructions, Local Rules and other appellate documents.  You will have l0 days from and including the day you filed your Notice of Appeal to complete the forms and file them with the US Court of Appeals, 500 Pearl Street, Room 370.
